Compare and Contrast Activity Speech Therapy Describing Game Digital or Print

Use this game for a FUN way to target compare and contrast goals in speech therapy! The activity facilitates critical thinking and higher-level vocabulary skills through a motivating GAME that you can use during in-person speech therapy and teletherapy. This simple and strategy-filled game appeals to students of many ages! Each player works to create a “path” from one side of the game board to the other by comparing and contrasting the objects along the way. Support your students with VISUALS! ❤️ The game board includes tons of bright PICTURES of everyday objects that are recognizable and relevant to students. ❤️ The one-page VISUAL can be used to teach or remind students about comparing, contrasting, and ways that objects might be alike or different. (It can also be used with your other comparing and contrasting activities.) Finally, something that challenges your students! In many cases, students will need to think outside the box to find similarities and differences. Since there are tons of possibilities for how to make a “path” across the game board, the game can be played over and over! This game can be used in any speech therapy setting: ✨ For IN-PERSON speech therapy: Print the pages (in color or black/white). ✨ During TELETHERAPY: Use annotation tools to create shapes on the PDF or use the included GOOGLE SLIDES version (with ready-to-do movable pieces). ✨ Send with students for a fun HOMEWORK assignment to play with parents or siblings. Use this NO PREP activity right away to target compare and contrast goals. ✅ Pair the printed copy with coins, tokens, chips, or stickers. ✅ Print the game in black/white for students to color. ✅ Use the included movable pieces when playing the Google Slides version digitally. This one game has TONS of possibilities for targeting language and vocabulary in speech therapy. The elements of strategy and competition make it a student favorite, too!
